Started in 1926, the Kuhtz General Store Food and Spirits is currently operated by the 4th generation of the family. If you are touring the Oconomowoc, WI area you should make time to stop in. Kuhtz General Store is in a suburb of Oconomowoc known as Stone Bank. The store is still setup as a1900s general store and the bar and restaurant haven’t changed much in the last 100 years either. We aren’t locals, but each time we visit Kuhtz’s many of the people at the bar are local, and they welcome us like we are neighbors. The food here is pretty good. The home made pizza is perfect. This place is the only bar I know of that serves raw beef on rye and onions, aka cannibal sandwiches. These are available only on weekends and the beef is fresh ground on site. The restaurant is child friendly. Each time we are in the Oconomowoc area we make sure to have time to stop and have a beer.

It’s like a classic old saloon, but the service from the bartenders is impeccable. Beer prices are inexpensive the atmosphere the people. It’s just a very welcoming place.

The greatest place to hang out and just enjoy the day. Their Amish candy is a big hit, and they also carry Candy Raisins! This is just the cutest general store you can hang out at. Even the video games are fun! Small town charm with unique items!
